How Karobar collects, uses, and protects your information — written plainly,
so you always know what happens to your data.
Last updated: 4 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Karobar ("Karobar", "we", "us", or
"our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Karobar mobile
app and related services (the "Service"). Karobar is a point-of-sale and shop management
app for small businesses — billing, inventory, customers, credit (khata), and reports.
By using Karobar, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the
Service.
1Information we collect
Information you provide
Account information. Karobar sign-in uses Google Sign-In. When you
sign in, we receive your name, email address, and a Google account identifier. There is
no separate password stored by us.
Business data you enter. The information you add to run your shop —
products and inventory, sales and receipts, purchases, quotations, returns, customers and
suppliers, credit (khata) balances, expenses, staff, and shop details. If you upload
images (such as product photos or a shop logo), those images are included.
Information collected automatically
Subscription & purchase information. If you buy a subscription, it
is processed by Google Play Billing. We receive the purchase token and subscription
status so we can grant and maintain your plan. We do not receive or store your full card
or bank details.
Notification token. A device push token (via Firebase Cloud Messaging)
so we can send you alerts such as low-stock reminders and important notices.
Diagnostics & crash data. If the app crashes or errors, we collect
crash reports and basic technical diagnostics (via Firebase Crashlytics) to fix problems.
This may include device model, operating system version, and app state at the time of the
error.
Karobar is offline-first: your core business data is stored on your device
and works without an account. It is only sent to our servers for cloud backup and
cross-device sync when you sign in.
2How we use your information
To provide and operate the Service — billing, inventory, reports, and the other
features you use.
To back up your data and keep it in sync across your devices when you sign in.
To process and manage your subscription and unlock paid features.
To send notifications you have enabled (for example, low-stock and reminders).
To diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and improve reliability and performance.
To respond to your requests and provide support.
To comply with legal obligations.
3How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in
these limited cases:
Service providers. We use trusted providers to run the Service,
including Google (Google Sign-In, Google Play Billing, Firebase Cloud Messaging, and
Firebase Crashlytics) and our web hosting provider that stores your synced data. They may
process data on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies.
Legal reasons. If required by law, regulation, legal process, or to
protect the rights, safety, and property of Karobar, our users, or others.
Business transfers. If Karobar is involved in a merger, acquisition,
or sale of assets, data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this
Policy.
4Storage, security & transfers
Data synced to our servers is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). We apply
reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against
unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure,
so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your data may be stored and processed on servers operated by our hosting and service
providers, which may be located in a different country from where you live.
5Data retention
We keep your account and synced data for as long as your account is active or as needed to
provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete your account and associated
business data, except for records we are legally required to retain (for example,
transaction records tied to a completed subscription payment), which we keep only for the
period required by law and then delete.
6Your choices & rights
Access & export. You can view your data in the app and export it
to CSV at any time from Reports → Export.
Correction. You can edit or update your business data directly in the
app.
Delete your account. You can request deletion of your account and all
associated data at any time. See our
Account Deletion page for how to do this.
Sign out. Signing out stops cloud sync; core features continue to work
offline on your device.
Notifications. You can turn notifications on or off in the app settings
and in your device settings.
Subscriptions. You can manage or cancel a subscription in the Google
Play Store (Play Store → Subscriptions).
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data (such
as access, correction, deletion, or objection). To exercise these, contact us using the
details below.
7Data about your customers
Karobar lets you, the business owner, store information about your own customers and
suppliers (such as names, phone numbers, and balances) so you can run your shop. You are
responsible for that information and for having the right to store it, and for using it
lawfully. We process it on your behalf solely to provide the Service to you.
8Children's privacy
Karobar is intended for business use by adults and is not directed to children. We do not
knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided
us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated"
date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the
Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
